Most recently McLeay was chief operating officer of APN New Zealand. Prior to that, he was CEO of NZ Lotteries, a client of Talbot’s while he was ECD at DDB New Zealand. Talbot returns to NZ from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe Y&R in London, where he was ECD for the last year. Said Blood: “I decided last year that I wanted to move on. To start afresh and explore new opportunities.” A month prior to the news on Talbot, Whybin\TBWA snared STEVE KANE from DDB New Zealand, where he had been group experien- tial creative director since the start of 2010, to a senior, multi-faceted creative director role within the agency. Kane was closely involved with a number of high-profile clients during his seven years at DDB, most recently for work on Cadbury, ANZ, McDonald’s, NZ Lotteries and Air New Zealand. Bondi Advertising lured interna- tional marketer STEVE MULLER as mar- keting and planning partner. He brings a mix of strategic and brand- culture insights from a career span- ning 10 years at Unilever and Heineken International. More recently Muller developed thecool- hunter.net and was a foundation employee at Droga5 Australia, suc- cessful in securing the Fosters Account (VB, Crown, Cascade). Leo Burnett Melbourne promoted ANDREW WOODHEAD to the role of creative director. In his eight years at the agency he has steadily risen through the ranks from the initial position of mid-weight writer. Woodhead has been recognised at every interna- tional awards show and receiving more than 200 accolades, most notably the prestigious Cannes ative director following a consolida- tion of the creative departments of McCann Sydney and McCann Melbourne. Mescall replaced McCann Sydney creative director OLIVER MAISEY who returned to his homeland New Zealand after 14 months in the role. Aussie expat MATT EASTWOOD, who has just completed his second year as chief creative officer of DDB New York, celebrated after US online trade mag Creativity singled out DDB New York as its 2013 Agency Grand Prix for Good in 2011 and the inaugural Clio Facebook Award in 2012. Banjo Sydney appointed former McCann Worldgroup, London dig- ital director KEVIN MCKAY as digital director. Mackay was an integral part of the global pitch team within McCann to win the London 2012 business, representing the agency to lead Digital, CRM, Search and Media Planning. McCann appointed JOHN MESCALL to the role of national executive cre- to Watch. DDB New York also ended up 2012 as equal #3 in the world on the 2012 Bestads Rankings, which rewards consistent creative excellence on a weekly basis. Creativity named Wieden + Kennedy Portland, which topped the Bestads Rankings in 2012, as its Agency of the Year. As has been the case over the last several years, Creativity also included majority Aussie-owned DROGA5 N EW YORK, which won its 2011 Agency of the Year title, in its 2012 Agency A-List. Creativity owner Ad Age ranked Droga5 #5 on its A-List, just behind #4 placed R/GA, New York, whose global chief creative officer is Aussie expat NICK LAW. Sydney brand and ideas agency Frost* underwent a management restructure which sees founder and CEO VINCE FROST become executive creative director and the return of long time collaborator, ANTHONY DONO- VAN , who takes on the creative direc- tor role. Donovan, who was a design director at Frost* in both Sydney and London for six years, left the company in 2010 to take up a position at Moon.
