F O R THE R EC O RD CAMPAIGNBRIEFREVIEW ALL THE CREATIVE NEWS THAT FITS AUSSIE EXPAT Mark H arricks, the multi awarded Clemenger BBDO, Wellington creat ive director, has been appointed creative director of DDB Sydney, filling the void left after the departure of Steve Back (to ECD of Saat chi & Saat chi Sydney). Harricks, who will report to national ECD and deputy chair- man , M at t Eas twood , won an Integrated Lion and several Silver Lions at Cannes last year. After three years at Leo Burnett, Sydney, copywriter Jol T emple has been hired as a senior wri ter by Deutsch, Los Angeles. Deutsch has enjoyed a s tring of pi tch wi ns recently which include Playstation, Saturn and Dr Pepper. OneDigital, Sydney has appointed Ian S hying creati ve dir ecto r. His back ground i ncludes g raphic design, art direction, interactive des ign, animat ion and moti on graphi cs for cl ients inclu ding Nestle, HSBC, Apple, Vodafone, John son & John son, Foxtel and Sony among many others. The Fou ndry, Syd ney has appointed former Kindred creative Andy H ealy as associate creative director. A highlight of his career to date was the launch of Coke Zero: an integrated, targeted launch that is st ill the most success ful new product launch e ver for the Coke bran d worldwide. He also made advertising history when his Live A Li ttle campai gn for Di et Cok e picked up Australia’s first Cyber Lion award at the 2000 Cannes Advertising Festival. Former McMann & Tate Sydney partner Greg Logan has joined Moon Group as executive creative direc- tor. Logan's award haul includes three Cannes Lions. He is most known for developing campaigns including Westfield ‘What’s What’, Subaru ‘Apology’ and Bundy ‘Drop Harricks - to creative director of DDB Sydney Bear’. After 13 years at Leo Burnett in both Milan and Sydney (where he was on the board and creative director), Logan began his own agency, McMann & Tate in 2003 with Strategist Catherine Jolley, gaining t he accou nts of AHL, Austral ian Red Cr os s Bl ood Ser vi ce, Red Roos ter NZ an d Westfield. McMann & Tate, like Moon Design, is part of the STW Group. It was on Westfield that Logan began to work closely with Moon Group. His appointment takes the total staff at Moon to 70. Publ ici s Moj o Auck land has employed globally acclaimed Aussie expat creative Steve Mckenzie, to the creative director gig, partly filling the role previously held by Nick Worthington, now ECD at Colenso BBDO, Auckland. Originally from Australia, Mckenzie has been work- ing in the UK and Hong Kong for the last 18 years with high profile agencie s suc h as APL, St Lukes, Mother, Bates, and BMP DDB. Leavi ng Saat chi an d Saat chi Melbourne in 1990 to seek fame in the UK, Mckenzie went on to work on s ome of the worl d’s lar ges t br ands i ncluding Amer ican Ai rlines , Emira tes, Volkswagen, Logan - to ECD of Moon Group, Sydney Sony, BT, Nokia, British Telecom, and AOL. Soon after his arrival in London he won major metal for the Mushy Peas a nd Pe perami cam - paigns at Ammirati Puris Lintas. Matty Burton and Cameron Blackley transferred from Droga5 New York to Droga5 Aust ral ia a s it s l ead senior te am and c reative heads on the Victoria Bitter account.
