ABOUT THE SIREN AWARDS The website has been designed to be a one-stop shop for all you need to know about submitting an entry, attending Siren Award events, Round Winner announcements as well as contacts for production studios around the country. People writing radio ads from advertising agencies or radio stations can enter the Single or Campaign categories. People who engineer radio ads from advertising agencies, productions studios or radio stations can enter the Craft category. If you’d like to enter your radio ad/s into the 2014 Siren Awards and be in the running to win a trip to Cannes next year; SIMPLY ENTER AT: WWW.SIRENAWARDS.COM.AU 2013 SIREN AWARDS ROUND WINNERS At the end of each round of the Siren Awards, a winner is selected from each category, then an overall winner is awarded from the Single & Campaign categories. The overall winner: • Automatically goes in the running for the Sirens Client Award of $5000 cash, • Has the opportunity to design a full page ad for Campaign Brief, and • Has the opportunity to judge the following round. • Al l round winners and highly commended entries progress to the finals of the Siren Awards, where the Siren Creative Council nominate the Silver category winner in each Category; single, campaign and craft, and decide upon the Gold Siren Award winner. 2013 SIREN CREATIVE COUNCIL Commercial Radio Australia thanks all the Siren Creative Council for the invaluable support they’ve provided throughout the year in all aspects of the Siren Awards including judging the 2013 Gold & Silver Siren Award Winners. WHO JUDGES THE SIRENS? Round Judging of the Siren Awards Round Winners are granted the right to judge the following round of the Siren Awards. The round judging also includes four judges from the Siren Creative Council. This will assure an objective approach to the judging but still maintain the important involvement of the winners of the previous round judging the next round. Finalist Judging of the Siren Awards The Siren Creative Council judges all entries deemed as Finalists each year to determine the Silver & Gold Siren winner. HOW DO THEY WORK? The Siren Awards consist of five rounds throughout the year. The winner is awarded from the best ads from each round, or recognised as highly commended entries. From the Single and Campaign Silver Siren winners, one winner is selected as the overall winner of the annual Siren Awards and awarded the Gold Siren. The winners of the 2013 Siren Awards were announced in May 2013 at the Siren Awards breakfast in Melbourne. Mix 106.5’s Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross hosted the breakfast. Advertising agency, McCann Melbourne won the 2013 Gold Siren award for best radio ad of the year. The Gold Siren Award winners scored a trip for two to Cannes to attend the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in June 2013. The Siren Awards are presented by Commercial Radio Australia.
