Now rocking out across North America BNZ - Owing the conversation about money COLENSO IT'S BEEN A STANDOUT YEAR for Colenso BBDO New Zealand, which managed to yet again walk away with top honours from a num- ber of the world's leading advertis- ing shows. At the start of 2012 Colenso BBDO was ranked the number #5 agency in the world and number one direct agency in The Big Won Report, which calculates global agency rankings based on awards performances, while creative chair- man Nick Worthington was named the highest-ranking ECD on the planet. But after the agency nabbed 12 Cannes Lions and many other global gongs in 2012, Colenso BBDO moved up to #1 in the 2013 The Big Won report, making it the first time a Kiwi or Aussie agency has ever won the title. "When you look at the most awarded marketing campaigns over the past few years, many of them have gone further than just advertis- ing. We no longer view ourselves as just supplying traditional advertis- ing, but as a company that uses cre- ativity to solve core business prob- lems," says Colenso BBDO's legendary creative chairman Nick Worthington, of the ranking. Whilst particularly pleased to receive this accolade as it highlights the variety of award-winning work across many different mediums and clients, he adds, "At the end of the day it's all very well being named the best agency in the world, but it wouldn't mean much if someone else won best agency in New Zealand." The report rankings analyse the results of 39 industry awards shows, approximately 4,500 campaigns or pieces of creative, by more than 1,500 agencies from around the globe. To reach top spot, Colenso BBDO Auckland won a total of 110 awards (30 per cent of which were golds or grands prix) with 20 sepa-
